I consider myself to be a photojournalist who strives to tell the stories of the community around me through visual means.

Photography is special in that it captures a single moment in time forever. It captures peoples’ best days, their worst days, and every moment in between. I strive to make photographs of moments that represent what an average person also in attendance would see. This means that I perform minimal toning edits to my photographs, not adding or subtracting any elements to my photos that may alter how the moment is seen.

“Every time we raise the camera to our eyes, we become morally responsible to “the photographed” as well as the viewers. Photography cannot be just a privilege, it’s a responsibility that should not be abdicated.”

– Neeta Satam, photojournalist

For all of my work I strive for credibility and adhere to the National Press Photographers Association Code of Ethics. I have also adopted the Writing with Light movement’s Statement of Principles.
